Alexander Zverev, the German tennis star, has been accused of physically abusing his ex-girlfriend, Brenda Patea. In November 2023, Zverev was given a penalty order and fined by a German court after being accused of "injuring bodily harm." Zverev has denied the charges, but in October, the Berlin criminal court issued a penalty order fining him.
Patea has now broken her silence on the allegations, posting a series of Instagram stories about her experience.
"I'm so happy that this is finally over," Patea wrote on Instagram. "I can finally close this chapter and move on with my life."
Patea went on to say that she was "grateful for the support of her family and friends" and that she was "looking forward to the future."
Zverev's lawyer has denied the allegations, saying that "the accusations against Alexander Zverev are false and defamatory."
