Manchester City Gegen Kopenhagen

Manchester City Ease Into Champions League Quarter-Finals

Citizens Secure 6-2 Aggregate Win Over Copenhagen

Manchester City booked their place in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League with a comfortable 3-1 victory over FC Copenhagen at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday. Pep Guardiola's side dominated the match from start to finish and never looked in danger of relinquishing their 3-1 first-leg lead.

Manuel Akanji opened the scoring for City in the 33rd minute, nodding home from a corner. Julian Alvarez made it 2-0 just before half-time with a low drive into the bottom corner. Erling Haaland added a third in the 53rd minute, tapping home from close range after a fine pass from Alvarez.

Copenhagen pulled one back through Mohamed Elyounoussi in the 62nd minute, but it was a mere consolation as City saw out the rest of the match without any problems. The 6-2 aggregate win means that City have reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League for a seventh consecutive season.

Guardiola was pleased with his team's performance, saying: "We played a very good game, we controlled the game from the beginning to the end. We created a lot of chances and we scored three goals. We are very happy to be in the quarter-finals."
